Cabinet refinishing without the brush marks
A new kitchen for a fraction of replacement. Degreased, deglossed, bonding-primed and sprayed in durable coatings — the way cabinet doors are supposed to be finished.
Painting Whatcom County since 1997
Why cabinets go wrong.
Cabinet doors are the hardest finish in the house. They get touched constantly, cleaned with degreaser, and every flaw sits at eye level under kitchen lighting.
Brush marks show. Cheap white enamel goes yellow over a stove. Skipped degreasing means the finish peels at the handle inside a year. None of that is bad luck — it is the process.
We take doors and drawer fronts off, label them, degrease, degloss, sand and bonding-prime, then spray the finish coats so the surface lays flat. Boxes and frames are finished in place with the kitchen fully masked.
Bellingham has a lot of houses worth doing properly — the historic places out Chuckanut and down Marine Drive, the mid-century homes in Sunnyland and Columbia, and every 1990s oak kitchen in Ferndale and Lynden waiting to be brought forward.
Based in Bellingham, we refinish cabinets across Whatcom and Skagit County.

A clear plan makes a difference. Everyone is on the same page before work begins.

Most kitchens run five to eight working days end to end, and a good part of that is cure time rather than labor. Your scope states it up front so you can plan around it.
Partly. You lose the cupboards while doors are off and the room while boxes are being sprayed. We sequence it so you keep the sink and use of countertops for as long as possible.
Not the way a brushed wall paint would. Bonding primer plus a sprayed cabinet coating is a genuinely hard finish — but it needs its full cure before it takes knocks, which is why cure time is in the schedule.
Doors and drawer fronts are sprayed, off the cabinet, so the finish lays flat with no brush marks. Boxes and frames are finished in place with the room masked.
Yes — we can match the trim white you already have, or take the opportunity to bring trim and cabinets onto the same color, which usually looks more considered.
Oak grain telegraphs through paint unless it is filled. We will show you the two options — grain filled for a smooth modern finish, or left visible — and price both.
Puget Sound Painting provided awesome service, and the work was top notch. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Send us a photo of the kitchen.
Two or three photos and a rough idea of the number of doors is usually enough for us to tell you whether refinishing makes sense for your kitchen.
If the boxes are sound, refinishing gets you most of the way to a new kitchen for a fraction of the cost. If they are not, we will tell you that too.
