Custom Painting
Color consultation, accent and feature walls, front doors, railings, metalwork, staining and the finishes that make a house look considered rather than just repainted. Our custom paint plans account for every surface inside and out, with all the details.
Painting Whatcom County since 1997
Full scope painting, top to bottom, inside and out.
Most people know roughly what they want and can’t quite land it. We’ll help you create a cohesive plan and color scheme to bring out the best in your property.
We walk the house with you, look at how the light moves through it, and put a scheme together that works room to room and holds up against the trim, the floors and considers the whole property..
Bellingham has real architecture worth respecting — the historic homes out Chuckanut and along Marine Drive, mid-century places in Sunnyland and Columbia, craftsman houses in Fairhaven and Eldridge. A good exterior scheme is worth more to those houses than any single upgrade you could make for the money.
Based in Bellingham, we take on custom work across Whatcom and Skagit County.

The details that decide how a house reads.
Any of it can be added to a repaint, or booked on its own.

Yes. A door, a set of railings or a garage door on its own is a normal job for us — there is a call-out minimum, and it is worth batching a few small items into one visit.
We walk the house, look at the light, the fixed materials and the neighbors, then put a body, trim and accent combination together. You get it in writing with the products named before anything is bought.
We can work to a period-appropriate palette and, on the older streets, to what the house was originally likely to have carried. If there are conservation requirements we will work within them.
Yes, and staining is a different animal to painting — the surface has to be clean, dry and open enough to take it, which usually means washing first and waiting.
Yes, with the correct primer for the metal and its condition. Rust has to be dealt with properly first or the finish will fail from underneath.
Tom and his crew did an excellent job, from the very beginning until the end. They will always be my painters.

Tell us what you’re trying to land.
Send photos of the house and say what is bothering you about how it looks. That is usually a better brief than a color name.
If you already have a scheme in mind we will tell you honestly whether it will work on your substrate and in this light.
