Exterior painting built for a wet climate

Exterior painting built for a wet climate

Prep is paramount in the Pacific Northwest. From washing, caulking, priming, our prep sets the stage for your finished project.

Painting Whatcom County since 1997

Why prep decides everything

The prep is what you’re paying for.

Our crew does more than roll paint onto a wall. What decides whether your exterior looks right in eight years is what happened underneath it.
Whether the prep was done properly. Whether the failing paint was scraped back to sound substrate. Whether every joint was caulked before the coating went on.

We’ve painted cedar, LP, T1-11, Hardie, stucco and brick across the county since 1997. We know which elevations fail first here and why, and we let you know what your building needs.

Based in Bellingham, we paint exteriors across Whatcom and Skagit County.

The prep is what you’re paying for.

How an exterior runs

Five steps. No surprises in between.

Exteriors here are weather-dependent. We tell you honestly what that means for your dates rather than promising one we can’t hold.

  1. Wash

Every exterior re-paint gets washed first — moss, mildew, dirt and chalking off before anything else happens. Soft wash on siding and cedar, pressure where the surface can take it. In this climate that step is not optional.

  2. Prepare

Loose and failing paint scraped back to sound substrate. Surfaces sanded for adhesion. Every joint, gap and penetration checked and caulked so weather stays outside the wall. Windows, roofing and planting masked and protected.

  3. Prime & paint

Bare and repaired areas spot-primed, then premium coatings applied to the coat count named in your written scope. Sprayed, rolled or brushed as the surface requires — and back-brushed where it matters.

  4. Clean

Chips, debris and equipment packed away at the end of every day. Masking pulled, hardscape swept. You get your driveway back each evening.

  5. Inspect

A final walk-through of the site, followed by a final check-in with you. Your project isn’t finished until you say it is.

Super impressed with their work on our exterior. They were able to fit us in at the last moment and did a fantastic job. No mess and their painters are super polite.

Exterior repaint, Bellingham

Chipping, peeling, or just tired?

Paint doesn’t fail evenly. It goes on the elevation that takes the weather, and it usually starts somewhere you don’t look at often — the north wall behind the cedar, the sill under the window, the fascia above the gutter.

When we walk your property we’re reading the substrate and its condition, simply measuring square footage. Bring your questions — make your vision a reality.
