Interior painting, in a house you’re still living in
Walls, ceilings and trim. Everything covered, everything masked, everything packed down each evening — because you still have to live here while we work.
Painting Whatcom County since 1997
Most of the work happens before the paint.
A good interior finish starts with prep: filling, sanding, caulking, and protecting everything that isn’t being painted. Floors covered. Furniture wrapped and moved back where it belongs. Cut lines that are actually straight.
We’ll also talk to you about the right product for the room. Kids and a hallway that takes a beating? You want a scrubbable finish, not a flat one. Bathroom or laundry? Different product again. That conversation happens at the quote, not halfway through.
Since 1997 we’ve helped Whatcom County homeowners repaint one room, one floor, or the whole house — and we work around your schedule whether you’re out all day or working from the next room.
Based in Bellingham, we paint interiors across Whatcom and Skagit County.

Count on clarity. Everyone is on the same page before work starts.

The right sheen for the room it’s in.
Sheen decides how a wall cleans, how it wears and how much it shows. We’ll recommend, you decide, and it goes in the scope.
| Room | Recommended | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Hallways & stairs | Eggshell or satin | Takes scrubbing, hides hands |
| Kids’ rooms | Scrubbable matte | Cleans without burnishing |
| Kitchens | Satin | Moisture and grease wipe off |
| Bathrooms | Satin or semi-gloss | Handles steam |
| Living & bedrooms | Matte or eggshell | Flattest, hides wall texture |
| Trim & doors | Semi-gloss enamel | Durable, wipes clean |
| Ceilings | Flat | No sheen banding |

Almost always, yes. We work room by room, keep the disruption to the room we’re in, and pack the site down every evening so you get your house back each night.
A straightforward bedroom is usually a day, including prep. Rooms with a lot of trim, damage or color changes take longer, and your scope carries a realistic duration rather than an optimistic one.
We move it, protect it and put it back where it was. Anything precious or very heavy we’ll talk about before the start date.
Yes, we can look at color pallets, with different hues, shades, LRV, and tones.
Yes — in flat, so there’s no sheen banding across the room. Wet rooms receive a higher sheen for moisture protection.
Walls are touch-dry in a couple of hours and we usually return furniture the same evening. Trim and doors need more time. We’ll let you know which surfaces need special care. **Please remove references to enamel throughout website.
I recently had Puget Sound Painting paint both the interior and exterior of my home, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The quality of their work was exceptional, and they completed the project in a timely manner.
